Can you keep a secret?
Well Ilana’s got some exciting announcements she can’t wait to make, but a lady never tells.
….Unless you give her a few martinis. Then she’ll probably tell you everything.
ILANA IS GOING TO THE PROM!
Ilana is honored to be named the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation’s (SDCF) 2018 Mike Ockrent Directing Fellow.
This annual award puts one emerging director/choreographer on a large-budget musical with a master in the industry.
This year, Ilana was selected over 150 nominees to work on Broadway’s newest musical comedy, The Prom, directed and choreographed by Tony Award-Winner Casey Nicholaw (Book of Mormon, Mean Girls, Spamalot!, Something Rotten!).
The Prom opened to rave reviews on November 16 at the Longacre Theatre on Broadway.
2 world-class pianists, 1 DJ, 15 slam poets, 5 dancers: one night only.
Ilana is directing the 11th Annual PIANO SLAM, produced by the Dranoff Foundation.
The mission of Piano Slam is to utilize music as a tool and inspiration to give our youth a voice through artistic expression. Piano Slam is a poetry writing competition that asks students to compose works of poetry inspired by their reactions to a selection of music, and, if they become a finalist, to perform their composition at our Piano Slam event at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, February 28, 2019.
This year’s Piano Slam will feature the work of composer MARTIN BEJERANO’s
”Fantasia de Tres Mundos”. Read Martin’s biography here.
“Director and choreographer Ilana Ransom Toeplitz has taken this show to the very heights and you will be thrilled with her astonishing, totally inspired and shockingly fresh outcomes.”
